Therapy
How much does therapy cost?
$150 for a 1 hour individual session either virtual or in person.
$150 for a 1 hour couples or family session.
Although I do not direct bill to insurance companies, many people have benefits from their place of employment that covers the cost of therapy from a Registered Social Worker. Refuge Therapy will provide a receipt that is suitable to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Payment can be made by e-transfer, credit card, cash, or cheque.
Sliding Scale
I believe that mental health services should be accessible for everyone who wants them. In order to help make that happen I also offer a sliding scale for people who can’t afford my full price. I will keep a small number of weekly sessions available at these reduced rates. Family Mediation
Fees are $250/hour and are usually divided equally between the couple unless they agree to a different arrangement. The initial individual sessions are billed at $125/hour. A retainer of $1000 is required after the initial individual sessions happen and before the joint sessions happen. Further funds may be required depending on how much time is required for mediation and for the mediator to write the final agreement document.
Cancellation of mediation sessions must be communicated to the mediator no less than 48 hours before the scheduled session. Late cancellations will be billed at the regular rate.
Payment for mediation services is required before any sessions occur and can be made by credit/debit, e-transfer, cash, or cheque.
